Congratulations!

Congrats to Dan and Rachelle, who had a beautiful little girl on Thursday January 22 at 9:02 am. Her name is Macy Dawn Hymas, and she weighed 6lbs 4 oz. She is simply precious. I worked the night after she was born, so I got to take care of her while Rachelle (tried) to get some sleep. All the other nurses were passing her around and all wanting to hold her because she is "so cute!" Once I went into another patients room, and Macy was in her bassinet when I went in. I came out 5 minutes later and a nurse was holding her and said "she was getting restless so I picked her up....well she moved once anyways."
Devry had the right date for when she would be born, and is very proud of that fact. I told him that if he is able to guess his sister in law's delivery date, the pressure is on to get mine right when its time:). He came up to the hospital to meet Macy on friday night, then again with me last night. Watching him hold her last night made me even more excited to have our own baby.

I had another Dr's appointment last week, and all is well with the baby. He/she is looking very healthy, and growing lots! My nausea is mostly gone now, with a few waves here and there, but definately bearable. We will find out around the middle of march what we are having. Everything is going great!

Life

Devry and I are both back in school. Devry is going full time, taking 16 credits and doing his internship at the same time. I am of course still working full time at nights and taking 6 credits. My schedule is pretty good, any classes that aren't online are in the late afternoon so I do get sleep sometimes. It is difficult because on days I work, Devry and I see each other for half hour in the mornings when I get home before he leaves and half hour in the evenings when he gets home before I leave. Luckily the most I work is 3 nights a week so its not all the time.

Things are going great with my pregnancy. I am starting to feel a lot better, and don't get nauseous near as much as I did. I still have a few foods that make me sick right away..and others I can't get enough of. My cravings aren't anything really bizarre, just random. I could eat breakfast foods anytime. I eat scrambled eggs almost every day, and other kids of breakfast foods whenever I get the chance. Devry brought me pancakes in bed the other day, that was really sweet. Orange juice is also something I cannot get enough of. I tried oranges because they are healthier, but its not the same. I know...its weird. I guess its better then some things I could crave. My next Dr's appointment is in a week so we will get to hear the babys heartbeat and make sure everything's going ok. I cheated and used the doppler at work the other night to hear the baby's heartbeat...it was really neat to hear.

Everything for us is going great! We are anxious to both be competely done with school, but for the time being we are just enjoying life until we get there.

2. Having my mom and sister come to visit in August (hopefully!)

1. Having a Baby!!!

In case you havn't heard, we are expecting! I am due August 1. It will be Grandchild # 8 on Devry's side (unless someone has an announcement they havn't shared :)) , and Grandchild #1 on my side! We are so excited! We will be bringing the baby home to Nova Scotia in October for him/her to experience their first Canadian thangsgiving! I will be off of work for 3 months after delivering, then return part time. We had the first ultrasound done a few weeks ago. It was so exciting to see the little heartbeat. We can find out around the end of March if we are having a boy or girl, which will be fun to see! Besides being a bit sick, everything has been going great! Hopefully the nausea will be gone soon. The biggest shock to me has been how sensitive I can smell everything. I do not think of it as a good thing at all, especially because of all the interesting (and by interesting, I really mean absolutely disgusting) smells I come across at work. Oh welll....vicks rub has become my best friend...if i put a little under my nose that is all I can smell.

We are looking forward to all of the changes this will bring in our life.

Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday Devry!

A few days after Christmas was Devrys birthday. He turned 24 years old on the 28th. We had family over for cake and ice cream and present opening. Trey was very excited to help devry blow out his candles....and was a pro at present opening because of all his practice on Christmas, so he helped with that too. The best part was that Trey would open a present, and have no Idea what it was (like a car booster set) and still say "WOW!!!" like it was the best thing in the world.

I felt so bad because we had plans for his birthday in Nova Scotia...but with the change of plans, I didn't get to plan anything too big for his birthday. We spent time with his family though, so that was fun.

I want to take the opportunity to express my love and appreciation for Devry. He is the most wonderful and considerate husband. He cares so much about me and I am very lucky to have him. He does the sweetest and kindest things for me, and I often take him for granted. I have never once had to go out in the early morning to start my car and scrape it off. He is out doing that at 5am so my car is warm and ready to go by 5:20 when I leave for work. Not to mention getting up even earlier to start a fire so the house is warm when I get out of bed. He gets things done around our house whenever they need fixed. He is outside shoveling snow constantly, and always walks me out to the car if the ground is icy so I dont fall. He works hard at everything he does. I feel so blessed to be able to call him mine. I love you so much Devry. Happy birthday.
