Car drauma

A few weeks ago I was in a small car accident. Yes it was my fault. I was nervous about a car turning left and cutting me off, so I was watching it closely, trying to avoid an accident. Ha
The car in front of me slammed on their brakes, and I couldn't stop in time, so I hit them. We were going slow and I didn't see much damage on their car. Then we pulled into a parking lot and I got out and looked at my car.

Their car had such minor damage, so I was SHOCKED to see my car. They had a Rav 4, which has the spare tire on the back of the car. That spare tire did not give, and my car did. So a small fender bender turned into a $3000 repair bill. We randomly picked one of the auto body shops in town. We are so glad we picked Christensen Body Shop. They had our car for just over a week.
The owner called and said they were finished with our car but they wanted us to come look at it.
We went in and the car looked GREAT. I would have gotten in and drove away if he didn't say something. He showed us where the paint color was off. I guess our car must have had something done to it at some point where the paint color was changed from the manufacturer's color. Once he pointed it out, I could tell, but it didn't look horrible. So he offered to have it repainted. We were close to the max our insurance would pay for a rental car, and I didn't know if they would cover it being painted, so I asked him. He said, "we will stop the rental car on the insurance today, and just let you keep it as a loaner for no charge, and the paint job it completely on us." All I could say is Wow. There are such thing as honest business owners! If he had've called to tell me my car was ready and never mentioned the color issue, I would have never noticed and drove away with it. Maybe I would have noticed later, who knows? He did everything right and ordered the new parts from the manufacturer, so it wasn't his fault that the color didn't match. Yet he fixed it for no charge. He said he wasn't happy with it and didn't feel good about giving it back until he was happy with it.
I was so impressed with this business. They did an amazing job on my car, were honest and went above and beyond what they needed to. So if anyone in the rexburg area ever needs body work done on their car, make sure you go to Christensen Body Shop!

Graduation!

Devry is officially FINISHED with school! He graduated with his bachelors in Automotive Technology Management last week. I am SO proud of him. He is not a big fan of school, and would MUCH rather be working, but he stuck with it and finished! Love that guy!

Unfortunately despite my many attempts, I could not convince him to walk. It is hard for it to feel "official" because it is just like he ended another semester. But he hated the idea of walking, so I will have to live with it. I told him he has to put on my gown and cap so I can take a picture at least. I'll probably make him do that tomorrow and post an "unofficial" picture.

So for now the school phase of our life is over, at least until I decide to get my masters. It feels good. A break from homework, classes, teachers and tests. Devry is applying for jobs right now. He still has his job on a farm until something comes up that is in his field. Hopefully that happens soon. There are not many jobs in Idaho, so we are looking in other states as well, and we will see what happens.

We are taking a very short vacation next week to celebrate. Devry's parents are watching Payton for a couple days while we go stay in Jackson WY. It is kind of to celebrate graduation as well as our anniversary. I am excited to get a little break :)
