What a Great weekend!

This weekend was so much fun! My wonderful sister in law Rachelle hosted a baby shower for me on Saturday. Two of my best friends, Candice and Lindsey, came up from Utah with their husbands for it. They came on Friday night and stayed till after the shower on saturday. We had so much fun on friday night playing games, and talking around a Bon fire. On saturday we went out to the middle of nowhere and shot clay pigeons. That was fun! Lindsey is only 2 weeks behind me in her pregnancy, so I bet the two of us looked pretty funny all pregnant and shooting guns!

Saturday Afternoon we went to the baby shower. Rachelle did such a fantastic job! I am so lucky to have such a great sister in law who is so thoughtful and kind. Being so far away from where I grew up is sometimes really hard, but it is so much easier because Devry's family is close, and treat me so wonderful!
She made delicious cheescake squares and chocolate covered strawberries, plus veggies and dip. Devry's mom made punch and brownies. It all looked and tasted amazing!
The games we played were alot of fun. This picture is the diaper game, where each diaper had a different chocolate bar crushed up and melted in it, and the goal is to identify each one. It was really funny to watch people smelling and tasting them to figure it out. The other game we played was one I hadn't played before. I had a list of attributes or characteristics (eyes, hair, smile, humor, brains, etc) and had to say whether I wanted Payton to have mine or Devrys. Then everyone filled out the same list trying to guess which ones I picked. It was fun to think about and see what other people chose.

After games came the presents! I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family that spoiled me! This picture is of the diaper cake Candice and Lindsey gave me. It was so adorable, and such a great idea.
Here is a picture of all the great gifts I recieved. I got lots of cute clothes, bath things, diapers, wipes, toys, lotions, beauty supplies for me, and so much more. The absolutely gorgeous quilt is hand made by my mother in law. It is stunning, and I am amazed by her talent! My friend Laura made Payton's name to put on the wall with scrapbooking paper and cute decorations. It looks so good, and a million times better then simply painting it (which is what I was planning on because of my lack of creativity). There is a picture of it below hung up on the wall! I am so thankful to everyone who came, and for all the thoughtful gifts.
And here are some pictures of his room so far. I still have some things I want to put on the walls, and I need baskets for the changing table, but it is getting closer to being ready for him!

I have less then 5 weeks to go, and I am finally starting to feel ready! I have pretty much everything I need, and want! My house is back together, and his room is finally set up. I cant wait for the next 5 weeks to go by so I can meet my little boy!

less than 6 weeks to go!!

I am getting pretty bad about not blogging enough! Our house is FINALLY done! All the new floors are in. We are just working on getting it all put back together, so pictures are soon to come!!

Devry is busy with school, work, yardwork, housework, and so many other things! He is such a hard worker and never complains. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband!

Here is our garden, which I am so excited about! I can't take any credit for it, since Devry does everything. I am excited to have fresh vegetables this summer and fall!
And of course, Belly pictures. I am now 34 weeks along, so less than 6 to go! I have still been feeling pretty good. The hot weather has made it a little more uncomfortable, so all the rain we have been getting has been a blessing for me! The past few shifts at work have been a bit harder. By the end of the shift I am tired, sore, and my ankles get pretty swollen after being on my feet for 12 hours. The not so fun parts of pregnancy are starting to kick in. Oh well, it will all be worth it!

I had an appointment today, and everything is great with Payton. His heartrate is great, and I am measuring right on. I officially have an induction date! If I do not go into labor before August 3rd, then that will be his birthday! I was also VERY excited to find out that the weekend of my due date, one of my 2 favorite doctors will be working, and then on my induction date, my other favorite one will be. Working with the doctors makes me a little picky about who I want, and I am thrilled with either one of them. Hopefully If i go into labor before that one of them will be on call then.

Other news......we are thinking daisy is going to have puppies. We knew it was a possibility, but lately she has definately been getting bigger and eating a ton more! It is exciting, except the timing is HORRIBLE. She will most likely have them around the middle of July...so that will mean a brand new baby and puppies. Luckily the weather is nice so they will be outside or in our mud room. Hopefully we will be able to sell them easily and make some extra money! Anyone want a purebred golden retriever?!?!

2 months to go!

As of yesterday...my due date is 2 months away! Part of me thinks that seems really soon, yet I still feel like I have a long way to go. Everyone keeps asking me if I am ready for him to come....and the answer is definately NO! We are still trying to finish up the house. The carpet is in the family room, nursery and hallway, and we are working on the laminant now. We have been playing musical rooms, moving furniture from one room to the next to try to get everything done. (Right now our mattress is on the floor in the family room while we lay laminant in our bedroom) I can't wait to be done and have my house back! As soon as the carpet was in the nursery I set up the crib! It looks so good...I will post pictures soon I promise. We have pretty much decided on Payton Clark Hymas for his name. Of course we will have to see him, but Devry has been calling him that for the past few weeks and we both love it, and it seems to fit.

Life is simply crazy right now with both of us working and going to school, plus all the projects we are trying to get done. I am so lucky to have had an easy pregnancy so far. I was only nauseous for about 6 weeks, and it really wasn't that bad. I havn't had any complications or problems, and I feel great! My back is starting to hurt, but its nothing unbearable. I thought it would be hard to do my 12 hour shifts, but it hasn't been a problem at all! It has been pretty great....I can't say I LOVE being pregnant...but its definately alot better then it could be. Hopefully the next 8-9 weeks will go as smooth and as quick as the past 31!

Mother's Day

I had to work Saturday and Sunday night (therefore I slept most of the day on Sunday) and didn't get a chance to post on mothers day.

I am so lucky to have the mom that I do. She is such a caring and kind person, who has always been there for me. She has supported me in everything! I remember her coming to almost every swim meet, and basketball game to cheer me on! She is someone I can always turn to and rely on. I have never doubted how much she loves me, because she has always shown me, and told me. I am sad to not live close enough to see her on a regular basis. I can't wait for when she comes to help me with the baby, and then a few month's later when I can go home and visit for several weeks. She is such a great mom, and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful example. I only hope that I can use her example and be as good of a mom to my own kids.

As I get closer to actually becoming a mom myself, I can't help but think about what a great respinsibility it is. It is exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. I already feel like I know the little baby growing inside me, and cannot wait till he gets here. Devry spoiled me on mothers day, and said I deserve it since I am almost a mom. I came home from work to the smell of breakfast cooking (that means Devry got up around 6am on the only day he gets to sleep in, to make me eggs, bacon, pankcakes and hashbrowns!). He gave me the most thoughtful card, and some gifts that I have been asking for. I have such a thoughtful and wonderful husband! His mom did a wonderful job raising him, and is another great example to me of an amazing mom!

Pictures

Here are a few pictures. The first two are of the nursery all painted. The white in the middle will be a chair rail once we get it up. I really like the colors and can't wait to have carpet and start setting up his room!

And....some belly pictures. 28 weeks! This baby is growing....which means I am too. The past few weeks I have popped quite a bit. Only 12 more weeks to go! Crazy. He is more active then ever, and I love it.

Less than 3 months!

I am finally in my 3rd trimester! I am 27 weeks along! My three months to go mark was on May 1st. I am finally looking pregnant. And feeling it too. This little boy has been moving more then ever! He is getting so active at certain times of the day...I can set a clock by him! We are still undecided on a name. Payton and Owen are the two we seem to like the best. Parker and Jayden are also some options. I never realized how difficult it would be to name a child! We are still not set on any, and love getting suggestions!

We are busy getting ready for him. We took a weekend trip to Utah in April and got a ton of stuff for him! We visited the Brooksby's (the family I nannied for), and had so much fun with them! All the kids are getting so big, and I love being able to go visit them from time to time. Their youngest is over a year, and they are done having kids....so I lucked out and got a ton of clothes and baby things! I also bought some stuff. (Rexburg doesn't have a Babies R us....and they should!!) Slowly we are getting ready for this baby! Hopefully the next three months go buy as quick as the last three.

Painting is almost done! We just have to put another coat on the baseboards and trim. The colors look great! I love the nursery! I will post some pictures soon.

House updates

We are well on our way to finishing our house renovations. Thanks to Devry's cousin Scott!! He sheetrocked, mudded, taped, sanded and textured everything!! Not to mention all the problem solving and improvising he had to do. He did an AMAZING job! His part of the work is just about done...and ours (and by ours, I mostly mean Devry's) is about to begin! We will start priming and painting everything next week, and then hopefully get the laminant floor layed. The new carpet will have to wait a bit until Devry's dad can come help us with it. I can't wait till its done! Here are some pictures before and after pictures of what has been done so far.

These are pictures of the nursery. Here is when we first started. The carpet was being pulled up and I realized I hadn't taken a before picture.

nursery After the carpet and trim has been removed.

The Nursery Now. All sheetrocked, and textured. It is going to look sooo good!!!

While Im on the topic of the nursery I thought I would post a picture of the crib bedding I got in the mail two days ago! We bought it on ebay for 1/4 of what it costs! It is so cute and will go with the room so well!.

I will be painting the top half of the nursery the medium color blue from the bedding, and then the bottom part with the darker blue color. I'll use brown as accent in the room. Im soo excited to see it finished!!

Here is the archway Scott build between the kitchen and the family room. It looks so much different! We love it.

Sheetrocked and textured. The windows are gone!

The archway from the other side. The family room now.
This is the family room before any of the new sheet rock went up.

This is the front room before we started.

The same view of the front room now.

The front room looking the other way.

The same view now. It looks completely different!!

I can't wait to see everything painted and new floors. School is out for the semester and we are enjoying a small break! We are headed to utah this weekend to visit friends and family and shop for baby stuff. I can't beleive rexburg doesn't have a babies R US. Oh well it gives us an excuse to take a trip. I'll post pictures again when everything is done.
