Nursery

I realized I never posted about the Twin's nursery! I wasn't quite finished everything when I delivered them, so it took me a little bit to get it all done. I finally finished the window valence this week, so I can post some pictures!

We haven't moved them out of our room yet..maybe soon. For right now, we just have one crib in the nursery. They will be in the same crib for another couple months, so we will buy one soon and put it up then. I have all the bedding and everything ready for the other crib. I'm excited to see them both up!

I chose a jungle theme for the Nursery. I'm so glad I did!I love how it turned out!

For the walls, I painted the bottom a tan/light brown color, and the top a little lighter blue then was there.
Then I made their names out of the light cardboardish letters. Painting them a tan color, then Modge podging scrapbook paper on them. I love these letters because they are so light. A very small nail in the sheetrock holds them up with some ribbon perfectly!

Here is a 360 degree tour of the nursery..

View walking into the nursery..crib and the Boys names.

I bought some sticker decals for the walls. I was nervous when I ordered them. I wasn't sure if the green was going to be the right color...it was perfect!!

I used the same green material I made the crib skirt out of to make the wind valence. All the greens matched perfectly. It was what I was most nervous about!

This is a view of the window, closet door, with the changing table and shelf with storage bins.

One of my favorite parts of my nursery. Words to the song I am a child of God.
I found this on Pinterest, and was thrilled how perfect the colors were! I bought the frame, modge podged some scrapbook paper on the mat, and printed off the words on some card stock. I Love how it turned out.

So there is my nursery. The other crib will actually fit perfectly next to the one we have. Might be a little crammed..but not too bad.

Now for the bedding..

Devry's mom hand quilts a quilt for all of her grandkids. She does an amazing job! So I chose the jungle themed quilts I wanted, and minky fabric for the back, and she made them for me!

If you haven't noticed by now...we chose a color for each of the boys. Kayson's is blue and Cohen's is green. These quilts are identical, except Cohen's has green minky on the back, and Kayson's has blue.
The Cute jungle themed quilt! Louse did a great job making them!
I made the rest of the crib bedding for the two cribs, except for the crib sheets.  The one that is set up has the green crib bedding (on the back of the bumper and the crib skirt)..the other one has blue.

Crib bumper and pillow I made. Cute jungle theme sheets and an adorable giraffe my friend Hattie gave Cohen.

The Crib bedding. I had fun making it!

Well that's my nursery! I will post a pic once the other crib is set up. I had a lot of fun deciding on a theme, colors, material etc. Maybe the boys will be moved into it soon.

2 months old!

Cohen and Kayson are two months old already! (Well now, they are a little over two months, but I haven't posted about it yet!)
Where does the time go??

Anyways, the last 2 months has been such an adjustment. Its been difficult, stressful, and completely WONDERFUL.
These two amazing little boys are perfect!
I have been so incredibly blessed with content, easy babies.
Payton was that way, and I never imagined I'd get another one like him. But I did..actually 2 more!

They have adjusted so well to the schedule I have them on.
They eat every 3 hours during the day, which only takes them about 10 minutes each feeding (plus burping and changing time)
At night they eat at around 10pm, then wake up at 4am to eat...then 7 or 8. They've been doing this for about a month. I can handle getting up with them once a night, especially when I am only awake for 20 minutes max. They sleep so well, I even feel very rested!

They are starting to be awake more often throughout the day. Often they will eat, then stay awake for 30 minutes to an hour before falling to sleep. It is so fun during that time. Their tummies are full, and they are just happy! Both Cohen and Kayson are wonderful babies, but so different!

Cohen is pretty vocal. He is always making noises (cooing, grunting, etc). He is also pretty serious. He makes us work for his smiles! His first real smile was on Mothers day! He hasn't lost any of his dark hair. I hope that keeps up! Best of all, he looks SO much like Devry. I love it. At his 2 month well check he weighed 10lbs 4oz and was 21.5" long

Kayson is the absolute happiest baby I have ever met! This boy is constantly smiling, showing off his adorable dimples! He smiled for the first time a few days before Cohen did. He even started laughing this week. He is so quiet and mellow though. He eats, then will lay there wide awake just smiling away, yet not making a sound. I think he saves all his vocals to let me know its time to eat. Man when that kid is hungry he LETS YOU KNOW! He is such a sweetie!
At 2 months well check he weighed 10 lbs and was 22 inches long.

I have loved the last two months with them! I am excited they are getting to the stage that their little personalities start showing more.

Happy babies!

Ready to go for a stroll in my new BOB!

Baby Blessing Day

April 29th was Cohen and Kayson's  blessing day.

In our church, we do not believe in being baptized as babies. This takes place at the age of 8. Babies are, however, given a blessing during our sacrament meeting, typically by their father.

We were so excited that everything worked out so perfectly. My mom was able to fly in Saturday night, and Devry was home that Sunday, so we decided it would be the best time. All but one of Devry's brothers were here with their families. It was a great day! We went to church at 9am, and Devry gave the boys absolutely beautiful blessings. It was so incredibly special! I was especially glad my mom was able to be here. She wasn't able to with Payton, so it was so wonderful to have her here. She was able to stay and help me, which was amazing!
Afterwards, we had lunch at our house for everyone. It was so fun to visit and enjoy family time.
We are so incredibly blessed to have such amazing love and support from our families.

Here are some pictures from that day.

Newborn Photo shoot and Family Pictures

I had a ton of Newborn pictures done of the twins, and I am SO glad. I had them done with Payton, and they were good, but I always wished I had some more. This time, I had two friends do photo shoots. They both do photography and are both so talented! These pictures were done by Whitney. She lives close to me, and has a photography business - Whitney Kathleen photography. She was fantastic and came over two separate times to get all the pictures. Some of just Cohen and Kayson, and some of all of us. They turned out amazing! She ended up taking SO many pictures! I picked some of my favorites to post.

Hope you enjoy!

Loving our boys!

I just love these guys.

Melts my heart.

I just adore all these guys so much! We are so busy and constantly adjusting to all the changes but loving every minute with them!
Devry is getting sent to work in north dakota...so he will be 12 hours away during the 2 weeks he works.
It changes our plans..and really puts us not having a clue of what to do. We were thinking about moving to be with him...but his transfer is temporary till things pick up in Rock Springs...so he could go back in a few months...or it could be years. No one knows. So we can't move to be with him when he doesn't know where he will be. And we can't go visit him like we could in Rock Springs.  It really sucks. Im very nervous about being completely on my own the next time he goes.. I've had him or someone else staying with me all but a week or so since I had the twins... 2 weeks alone will be hard. Payton is challenging, and the twins are getting to be more work as they get older and are awake more. Evenings are hard without help..Payton is cranky and tired from the day, and needs my attention to get him to bed and its the time that the babies are awake and fussy. We will have to see how it goes.
